150 for Nebraska’s 150th

150 Artists, 150 Artworks, 150 Years of Nebraska in Miniature now on view in Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art

May 3, 2017 – July 30, 2017

More than 150 artists submitted an original work of agrarian art honoring the state of Nebraska. This major exhibition and sale celebrates and features many Nebraska artists, their craft, and this great state. It includes works from artists who have connections to Nebraska through having exhibited at Bone Creek Museum or through family ties. Amanda Mobley Guenther and Gabrielle Comte teamed up to get the exhibition up ahead of the May 3rd opening so that visitors on the weekend of April 29 and 30th enjoyed a preview. There is now a link to images of all 150 works of art on bonecreek.org and more photos on the Facebook link for the museum.

Saturday May 27th will be the traditional reception open to the public and is just one of a number of events that connect to this exhibition. Each year Bone Creek hosts a reception to display its current exhibition to visiting guests who are in town for the David City Schools Alumni weekend or for other events. All are welcome to enjoy the art and light refreshments during the 1 to 4 pm reception. Some of the artists will be present for this first reception. The closing reception for the “150 for Nebraska’s 150th” exhibition will be Saturday July 29th when many of the artists plan to attend.

This exhibition received major funding from Butler County Area Foundation Fund, the Butler County Arts Council and many generous donors. Bone Creek Museum is honored that this exhibition was selected to be a signature event for the Nebraska Statehood 150 celebration.

Tours may be scheduled by contacting the museum at 402-367-4488 or emailing [email protected].  Normal visiting hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, Sunday 1-4 pm and Thursday 10 am to 8 pm.The museum is at 575 E Street David City, NE.
