Humanities Presentations and Panel Discussions are educational experiences that allows visitors to learn and discuss the content of exhibitions.
In March 2013, for example, Nancy Gillis presented The Voices of Native American Women. Nancy Gillis is the director of the John G. Neihardt foundation. Ms.Gillis is also a teacher on faculty at Wayne State College, the Nebraska Indian Community College and Northeast Community College. She teaches U.S. history and Native American history and culture. Bone Creek hosted her presentation with support from the Nebraska Humanities Council through which Ms. Gillis shares her deep knowledge about Native American culture at schools and civic groups throughout Nebraska.
These discussions often turn to the realities of agrarian life and the changing physical and economic environment. Stay tuned to our Events page to learn about our next Panel Discussion or Humanities Presentation.
