Landscape and Community: Local Quilts

Sept. 2 – Nov. 14, 2021

The exhibition is a combination of quilts from the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln and Butler County submissions. The 19th century applique quilts are drawn from the “Hearts & Flowers” collection of the International Museum (IQM) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The IQM’s mission is to build a global collection and audience that celebrate the cultural and artistic significance of quilts.

Landscape and community are themes will be explored in this project. Our community has history, and time makes many changes. Quilts are markings and memories of time and place. Quilts bring people together. With the contribution of handmade quilts by Lanette Bathen, Brenda Siffring, Donna Moravec, Cheryl Prothman, we can celebrate our community and heritage.
