Bone Creek Museum was the sole award winner in the Mountain-Plains Museums Association “Excellence in Publications” award for 2023 in the small museums category with all the publication categories combined into a single award. The museum has received this honor from its regional museum association several times. This spring Bone Creek Museum published an exhibition catalog book for “The Farm Island Anthology” project. The jury also considers other marketing publications produced by the museum as well to give this overall award of excellence.
Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art was recognized for outstanding achievement in the multiple publication formats and areas including:
Content: quality of writing, script, narrative, editing and research,
Interface: the visitor and user’s experience with attention to ease of use
Design: the visual appeal of graphic elements and the overall “look and feel” for their catalogs, mailings, and tri-fold brochures.
Founding board members Allen Covault and Anna Nolan attended the annual meeting in Corpus Christi, Texas to receive the award.
