Nancy Bass recently visited Nebraska to attend her opening reception May 28,2010. Part of her itinerary included giving a talk about her recent work and walking through the gallery with museum visitors. Chief Curator Moseman and Bass discussed with the group that had gathered that afternoon the importance of artwork with a message. An interactive discuss was enjoyed by all.
Earlier that day Nancy and her husband were able to visit the home of the largest farm of British White Cattle in the country. Bohaty’s British Whites are gentle cattle with an easy temperament and wonderfully expressive faces. Artist Bass looks for such character for her paintings. Along with art, the conversation turned to the Bohaty’s methods for grass fed beef, the changing economics of farming, and joys of living and working with animals. This was a richly agrarian experience these participants will not soon forget!
